Business and private jet aircraft windshields are almost always made of multi-layer laminated construction. Over time, these layers may begin to separate, a condition known as delamination. The aircraft manufacturer defines the allowable limits for delamination for safe flight. This condition is often repairable, avoiding a complete windshield replacement.
AWS has access to an FAA-approved procedure that restores the windshield to its original condition using heat and pressure. This process often bonds the layers back together, extending the window’s life. If you have delamination in your windshield, contact AWS. We may be able to save your windshield.
